This is the interior and clothing styles of the "Roaring 20's" in the Adirondacks.Note the snow covered boy being welcomed by the happy family and the warmth of the family woodstove.

Two sisters discard their Victorian hats as they feel the freedom of the Adirondack summer and its beauty.A guideboat paddles up the Bald Mountain Pond and a coupe of local boys spot these handsome girls.

Eagle Bay ,in 1900,with the Fulton Chain steamers docking to unload passengers to the local hotels and to the waiting train to take them deeper into the Adirondacks.

Raquette Lake 1890-1920.The train station was still open with daily arrivals and departures.The owners of the "Great Camps" parked there custom made railroad cars below the station for the season. The waterfront and lake are busy with the tugs and steamers,the school boat and the unique boats associated with each of the great camps.A freighcar is ready to roll out onto a float to be towed by the tug"Lillian" up the Lake to the Marion River Crossing.

Amish Maple Sugaring. In early March  the sugar maples are "tapped" to produce the maple sap that is boiled down to create maple syrup and maple sugar.This is a happy family ritual that produces one of natures most nutricious products.

  The "Smokey Run"Cider Mill has operated as a apple cider and vinegar works since 1854.Depicted is the line of horses and wagons that would ,somtimes,extend a mile down the road from the mill.Every farmer had to make"hard cider" to attract help during the harvest season and to make vinegar for his family's pickling needs.
