This is a portrait of Anna Mast,a young Amish girl,playing in the creek at historic Fort Klock in Montgomery County,New York.She is collecting wild spearmint,wintergreen and peppermint to make fresh tea and then dry the remaining leaves for tea in the winter.Her home is in Palatine Bridge where she and her mother hand-craft baskets.

The Amish art lesson at the Farmer's Market in Clinton,New York. For many years the local Old Order Amish and Evangelic Menonites have maintained weekly market booths to sell their families baked goods,cheeses,farm produce and crafts.Depicted is an Amish booth selling art work that is attracting a interested group of Amish children.The children were done as portraits,since I saw them each week with time enough to remember their individual features.
